Austin Elliott, with a second year underway in kart racing, has
the determined goal of obtaining many 1st place wins. He plans to race at Prairie
City Kart Club in Rancho Cordova, Ca, and expand his experience with more racing at
the Blue Max Kart Club in Davis CA., the Kinsman Kart Club in Dixon CA., and the
Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA. for the year 2007. His long range goals include not only kart racing, but racing in the Mazda Series, Champ Car Series, F1, and ultimately NASCAR. He comes from
a racing family as his great grandfather, grandfather, and great uncle raced
dragsters for many years. His mother is crew chief, with the family onboard to help
sponsor the activities of kart racing.
Austin is a cancer survivor, with the contraction of acute lymphoblastic leukemia at
the age of 5. He survived a 3 year ordeal of chemotherapy and many other grueling
treatments.
Afterwards, while attending a 4th of July party at his great uncle’s house in
2005, he got the opportunity to drive a fun kart on an oval dirt track, behind his
great uncle’s house. The karting bug bit him instantly. His parents got him his
first kart, and with a lot of problems with the kart for the year 2006, he still
managed to pull off a 4th place overall win, and a plaque for the most improved
driver. This year, 2007, with a new kart in tow, he is determined to make it a great
year of many wins.
Austin is in training with Lisa Caceres of Race Karts, Inc.
